The Clinical Educator is responsible for the development,
facilitation and evaluation of clinical education programs and
learning opportunities for all Medical/Surgical
staff.Responsibilities include the oversite of orientation of all
newly hired staff, including participation in the evaluation
process. Accountable for documentation of staff competencies.
Responsible for preparation and coordination of education programs
geared toward development of hospital associates and community
participants as appropriate. Collaborates with the leadership team
and education team to identify and meet the learning needs of
customers served. Serves as a resource and mentor to associates to
accomplish assigned learning tasks, programs and goals. Must be
able to work independently and collaboratively as a part of a
team.Knowledge of computers and related software required.
.Assess staff needs through:
Consultation with other members of management team
Current evidence based practices
.Develop and implement clinical education programs to meet staff
Document educational program attendance. Evaluate and update
annual staff competencies
Ensure departmental compliance with all required
Plan and schedule in-services.
Develop educational offerings to ensure evidenced based practice
standards are current.
Coordinates approved vendor education for new products.
Coordinates orientation process for newly hired staff
Evaluate experiences and competencies of orientees
Participate in the initial probationary evaluation of

Monitor preceptors and orientees throughout clinical
Ensure orientee progress is documented and submitted

Current Louisiana Nurse Licensure
