ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Alexandria, Louisiana. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel RN Position Job Notes: Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available. Opportunity: RN - MICU Job Details: • Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM • Every other weekend schedule requirement • Holiday requirements apply • 2:1 patient ratio in 26-bed Medical ICU unit • Must be willing to care for COVID-19 patients • ICU experience required • Float to other Medical-Surgical Units and Intensive Care Units as needed • Work with ventilators, Alaris IV pumps, balloon pumps, ventriculostomy drains, and glucometers • Use iMobile phones and technology throughout facility • PPE requirements include masks, face shields, goggles, PAPRs and hoods for COVID-19 patients • Document using Meditech with EBCD (Evidence Based Clinical Documentation) • Perform hourly rounding, bedside hand-off reporting, and complete My Care Board during handoffs • Use AIDET approach with focus on compassionate connected care • Advanced skills needed: ventilator management, critical care drip knowledge, cardiac/neuro/respiratory system proficiency • Procedures performed: intubations, cardioversions, ventriculostomy drain management, IABP management, CRRT, patient proning • Required certifications: ACLS and BLS (TNCC preferred) • Dress code: Ceil blue scrubs with optional white or ceil blue scrub jacket; green surgery scrubs provided for COVID patients • Self-scheduling available within established guidelines Facility: This healthcare facility is a Pathways to Excellence certified hospital working toward Magnet status recognition.
