About The Position Alexandria, Louisiana OB Hospitalist Locum Tenens Opportunity Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking Board Certified OB/GYN Physicians for a locum tenens OB Hospitalist opportunity in Alexandria, LA. This role provides 24-hour in-house coverage at a Level III NICU facility with flexible scheduling options. Opportunity Details: - Location: Alexandria, LA - Contract Type: OB Hospitalist Locum Tenens - Availability: 4-6 shifts per month - Shift Schedule: 24-hour shifts (8:00 AM – 8:00 AM) - Coverage: Weekday and weekend availability - Long-term locum need while recruiting permanent providers Facility Details: - Hospital Beds: 320 - L&D Suites: 10 - Postpartum Beds: 26 - NICU Level: III - Annual Deliveries: ~2,014 - EMR System: Meditech - 24/7 In-House Anesthesia & Radiology Responsibilities: - Manage unassigned OB patients that present to L&D and the main ER - Serve as the primary provider in OB-ED and OB triage - Handle obstetric emergencies and provide coverage for GYN cases - Perform antepartum, postpartum, and GYN rounds - Provide emergent GYN surgery for unassigned patients (e.g., ruptured ectopic pregnancies, ovarian torsion, incomplete abortion) - Provide consults in the ER as needed - Participate in residency training, RN education, and hospital simulations - Work collaboratively with Advanced Practice Clinicians (APCs) as needed Provider Requirements: - Board Certified OB/GYN (MD/DO) – ABOG or AOBOG - Active Louisiana State License & Unrestricted DEA - Certifications: BLS, ACLS - TB/PPD Read within last 12 months or documentation of negative chest X-ray if PPD positive - Flu Shot documentation required during flu season (Oct-Apr) - Interviews required prior to placement Benefits & Support: - Competitive Weekly Pay - AAA Malpractice Coverage - Dedicated Credentialing Assistance - Full Travel & Lodging Support - Temporary Privileges Available for Eligible Providers This high-impact OB Hospitalist role is ideal for experienced providers seeking work-life balance with flexible scheduling and no outpatient responsibilities.
