Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (18:45 - 07:15) Experience: Minimum of 2 years in specialty License: Compact or state license in hand upon submission Certifications: BLS, NIH required; ACLS preferred Must-Have: - Telemetry and Medsurg experience over 1 year - Experience with cardiac drips and EKG - Familiarity with electronic medical record systems Description: This position involves working in an area commonly impacted by hurricanes. The hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30; however, storms can occur outside of this timeframe. Travelers will be submitted to roles where responsibilities may include being part of an "Emergency Team." Expectations include staying at the facility until after the storm passes or being part of the relief team. Details regarding pay during storm events will be communicated as circumstances vary. It is important to be comfortable with these conditions before applying during the hurricane season. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:6 during the night shift. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend. Certifications must include BLS and NIH, with ACLS preferred. References are not required for submission, but at least two supervisor references will be needed for clearance to start the contract. Candidates must not have worked as permanent staff or in-house agency contractors within the last year.
