Respiratory Therapist is responsible for day-to-day operations in
the respiratory care department. Assumes responsibility for
policy/procedure formulations, performance improvement, and
diagnostics. Assumes preceptor responsibilities for Respiratory
Care Practitioners and new employees as directed within the area of
specialty. Assists with initial assessment for all respiratory
protocol patients. Assists with clinical-based research projects
that are related to defining appropriateness and efficiency of

rights in day-to-day interactions. MAJOR TASKS, DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs respiratory care procedures in response
to patient needs, physician direction/orders, and within the limits
of established RRMC respiratory care policies/procedures and
respiratory care consultsPromotes optimal respiratory status of
assigned patients through physical exam, chart review, and response
to ordered therapies, and recommendations, when appropriate, to
affect and achieve an optimal level of response to the intervention
ordered.Performs airway management and cardiopulmonary
resuscitation as requiredCommunicates the patient care plan
thoroughly and effectively with peers, physicians, and nursing
staff, maintaining health care teams focus during and between
shifts.Corrects and adjusts respiratory care equipment,
communicates operational theory to other health care professionals,
and recommends technology most appropriate to maximize patient
comfort and safety, and provide effective and appropriate use of
technology.Able to modify job duties and communicate with customers
in an age appropriate manner.Appropriately assesses the patient's
pain and involves the patient in effective management of the pain
using age appropriate interventions.Demonstrate clinical competence
with patient care.Demonstrate good ability to communicate in
written and verbal fashion, promoting a team approach to patient
care.Demonstrate professional development through continuing
