Ratios : 6:1Unit staffing description- (unit secretaries and tech
availability) : 3-South is a total of 36 beds separated into two 18
bed units with separate Nurse s stations, call light systems and
phones. There is a secretary on duty from 7am-7pm daily and from
7pm-11pm most weekdays census permitting. PCTs are available all
three shifts and ratio fluctuates with census and shifts.Type of
equipment : Telemetry for all beds with monitor in each nurse s
station to view all patients on that unit. Dynamaps with neurons
that upload vital signs directly to Meditech. Glucometers also
upload results directly to Meditech. Use of iMobile phones and
technology by all staff in the hospital. iPhones are tied into call
system for direct patient access to available staff.Documentation
system: Meditech using EBCD (Evidence Based Clinical
Documentation)Scheduling requirements: All nursing shift are twelve
hours from 7 to 7; every other weekend. Holiday
requirements.Floating policy: Nursing staff will float to other
Medical-Surgical Units in the hospital as needed with primary focus
on pulling to similar units. Patient Experience requirements:
Hourly rounding, bedside hand-off reporting, completion of My Care
