of Telemetry Unit for our facility to ensure that we continue to

will be in charge of the daily operations in providing care to
medical/surgical/telemetry patients; manages the provision of
adequate and competent staffing; addresses any issues that affect
desired patient outcomes; ensures departmental compliance with
regulatory and The Joint Commission requirements; monitors and
adheres to annual hospital operating budget; implements
cost-effective strategies in staffing and supply management
decisions; assists staff in providing patient care and services as
needed.Job Summary:
- Demonstrates an understanding of and adheres to RRMC values -

- The Quality of service provided by the department is very good
as indicated by a combination of information available through
customer surveys, professional standards, accrediting agencies,
governmental standards, informal feedback, employee surveys, and
direct observation
- Operates the department within budget
- Manages the productivity of the department with budget
- Maintains positive employee relations as observed from employee
feedback
- Consistently demonstrates positive interpersonal relations with
all constituencies - including other departments, patients,
physicians, and community
- Integrates the service into RRMC's primary functions
- Coordinates and integrates interdepartmental and intradepa
rtmental services
- Develops and implements policies and procedures that guide and
support the provision of services
- Recommends a sufficient number of qualified and competent
persons to provide the services of the department
- Determines the qualifications and competence of department
employees
- Continuously assesses and improves the performance of services
provided by the department
- Maintains quality control programs, as appropriate
- Orients and provides in-service training and continuing
education to all department employees
- Recommends space and other resources needed by the
department
- Participates in the selection of sources for needed services
not provided by the department or the medical center
- Monitors quality outcomes and recommends improvements in
performance relative to the following safety issues:
- Mitigation of unsafe practices
- Identification and mitigation of risks and hazards
- Quality of the informed consent process
- Performing unwanted life sustaining treatment or withholding
resuscitation
- Ensuring adequate and competent nursing staff service and
nursing leadership at all levels
- Timely and understandable communication of patient critical
information
- Accurate labeling of diagnostic studies including radiographs,
laboratory specimens, or other diagnostic studies
- Adverse events resulting from non-standardized, fragmented, or
ineffective information transfer at the time of patient
discharge
- Adverse drug events and medication reconciliation
- Hospital-acquired infections related to inadequate hand
hygiene
- Central venous catheter related bloodstream infection
prevention
- Complications associated with ventilator use
- Catheter associated urinary tract infections
- Prevention of developing venous thromboembolism and subsequent
pulmonary embolism
- Anticoagulation therapy and coordinated care
- Conduct reinforces the organization's values and promotes the
Code of Conduct
- Meets the leadership obligations under the Ethics and
Compliance Program
- Demonstrates support for patient rights in day-to-day
interactions
- Demonstrates adherence to principles of safety and infection
control and reporting requirements for both
- Appropriately assesses the patient's pain and involves the
patient in effective management of that pain using age appropriate
interventions
- Able to recognize adverse drug reactions and demonstrates
understanding of proper reporting once reaction is identified
- Able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to
provide care based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety,
and related criteria appropriate to the following age groups:
adolescent, adult, geriatric
- Willingly accepts and performs all assigned dutiesRapides

- Graduate of a Nursing Program from an accredited school; BSN
required (or in the process of obtaining BSN)
- Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the
State of Louisiana
- CPR for Healthcare Providers to be completed within 30 days of
hire
