Description Position Title Technical Lead Position Purpose The
Technical Lead will have primary responsibility for the following:
Leading, managing, and holding accountable the technical staff,
Project Technician, Senior Project Technician, Designer, and Senior
Designer positions ensuring that the discipline has the technical
capabilities that are aligned with standards and practices of the
trade. Serving as a mentor for associates and provide them with the
appropriate tools and systems to increase their proficiency and
utilization. Ensuring the deliverables for projects are
successfully developed within schedule and budget constraints and
in accordance with standard of care. Essential Functions Be engaged
and collaborative with the Discipline Leader, Lead Professionals,
and Project Managers. Drive alignment and growth of the technical
staff to ensure alignment with the firm’s purpose, strategy, goals
and market-driven approach; advance the firm’s guiding principles
(i.e., TBS Compass and Integrated Business Model). Support and
drive the TBS Vision/Behaviors and Compass with the team of
technical staff within the discipline. Ensure the firm’s procedures
and policies are implemented and followed. Evaluate associates for
their technical skills, performance, and utilization. Provide
guidance and direction to t associates to ensure technical
excellence and promote growth in their field. Facilitate
opportunities for advancement of associates on the TBS Career
Ladder. Supervisory Responsibilities Administrative supervisor of
Project Technicians, Senior Project Technicians, Designers, and
Senior Designers within the discipline. Coordinate with Lead
Professionals, Project Managers, and Engineers for technical
staffing needs. Physical Requirements The associate is occasionally
required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to operate and maneuver,
objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; use manual
dexterity to operate keyboard, calculator, and telephone; talk and
hear; climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel and lift up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color,
and peripheral vision; depth perception; ability to adjust focus.
Minimum Requirements Associates Degree in Engineering Technology,
Graphic Design, CAD Drafting, or a similar field. Twenty (20) years
of progressive experience in CAD drafting/technology Experience
utilizing relevant software, techniques, and tools to prepare
technical drawings. Ability to relate to clients and people at all
levels of the organization; must possess excellent communication
and diplomacy skills. Leadership skills required to mentor and
monitor the work of several CAD Technicians in their day-to-day
performance. Work Environment The associate works in an office and
outside, potentially exposed to a variety of environmental
conditions. Hours of Work and Travel This is a full-time, exempt
position, requiring 40 hours per week. Nights and weekend
commitments to the firm, its associates and clients are required.
